if you’ve never visited mary jo hoffman’s STILL blog you should know that since january of 2012 she has posted one stunning image, daily, of gathered natural natural objects (like flowers, feathers, leaves etc.) found near her home in Minneapolis and Saint Paul, Minnesota photographed on a white background. Mary jo has not missed a day since—four years and over 1,400 posts later. this week, Target Online is rolling out STILL by Mary Jo Hoffman -— a line of bedding and shower curtains, featuring eight separate collections of sheets, shams, pillowcases, duvet covers, and shower curtains, each item displaying a STILL blog image, and each collection highlighting a color theme. Printed on luxuriantly heavy 600 count cotton, they are, by turns, vivid, playful, and restful. the products derive very directly from the minimalism of STILL blog, and its sort of bold, graphic reference to nature on household goods anywhere outside of Scandinavia.
quite brillantly mary jo hired the photographic genius of Wing Ta and the genius creative direction of Martha McQuade and Dan Clark at Mad Work studio to create these beautifully unique product photos, and invited me to share them with you. also this week, West Elm launches online 36 wall hangings of STILL images printed on clear acrylic and framed in a matte gold metal frame. from more from mary jo, visit her very lovely STILL shop.
