there are so many great things about built-in furniture. first of all, you can customize it to your own very specific needs so a piece fits your space just perfectly. and, they are the perfect space saver. if you’ve got an awkward nook or a wide window just aching for a place to read and recline or create a wee dining space, built-in benches and window seats are both charming and useful — add a lid on hinges for secret storage space or built-in bookcases under your bench and you’re good to go. i’ve even seen some really inspired palette furniture, too — an easy DIY ‘almost built-in’ and an inexpensive and stylish option. quite literally, a fake ’til you make it!
