weekend greetings! i’m sorry i’ve been a bit MIA when it comes to my friday finds the last couple of weeks. i had so much travel going on it was hard to keep up! but we’re back today with some inspiration i’ve found to be just a little bit summery — light-filled rooms and art with a color palette i just couldn’t ignore. it’s also feeling very francophile-filled, perhaps because i head to france in july and i’m very excited to arrive! i hope you all have a lovely, relaxing weekend planned!
xo, victoria
- j’adore this loungey living room featured in milk decoration magazine and especially those bamboo chairs. we have a similar bamboo set at super marché and it’s taking everything in my will power not to keep it for myself — it’s the hardest part of shopping the french flea markets!
- san Francisco-based blogger si, of french by design has the prettiest home. it’s always so fresh looking with very white walls and splashes of chic color everywhere like her boucherouite rugs. check out her instagram for more glimpses inside her swoon-worthy space.
- i can’t say why exactly, but i love David Kitz’s Alice B. Toklas Photographic print from tappan collective. i think it’s the lovely color palette, the composition and the overall very relaxed feeling it gives me. maybe it’s that she’s imbibing in something very chill there, but who knows?
- one of my must-stop shops in paris is le monde sauvage. one of their four shops is on Boulevard Beaumarchais right next door to mercí, another favorite but le monde sauvage has the most beautiful, very parisian textiles and i love how she’s mixed and matched prints in this pretty bedroom.
- another beautiful bedroom that mixes prints and patterns was featured recently in elle decor magazine. i love the styling — from the vintage bamboo chair to the rather unexpected big black & white print next to the bed. bravo!
- cy twombly, an American painter, sculptor, and photographer is one of my very favorite artists and this print of his entitled St Barth’s, 2011 is just so lovely. the whole series is magical, taken on a compact camera, before enlarging them to produce blurred, impressionistic images that almost look like polaroids to me.
- just allow me to move right into this gorgeous paris flat via milk magazine. wouldn’t you just love to have floor to ceilings french doors opening out onto a view of the paris rooftops? ouí, me too!
- and if you’re wondering more about how i shop in france for super marché’s vintage treasures, house beautiful magazine featured a few of my favorite tips along with a few other brocante shoppers. you can check out the full article here.
