i think i’m in a much brighter place than i was last friday — that happens a lot lately, doesn’t it? the mad mood swing pendulum! so you might find my friday finds a tad more cheerful than last week’s collection, too. i’m not sure why my mood has improved, but i’m trying to remain optimistic, and i also watched to some inspiring films this week that lifted my spirits — i highly recommend the documentaries aggie on amazon and david Attenborough’s a life on our planet on netflix. and the film the trial of the chicago 7 on netflix is also excellent. i like learning about history and culture through great films and these are three i loved. have a good weekend, y’all!

- i adore this space and especially the painting by ben simon of the other side. it’s the ocean view club, a small and charming family-run hotel in the Bahamas. i’ve never been to the bahamas before and now i think i need a visit to this gorgeous locale!
- this is a fabulously eclectic living room that i wouldn’t mind making my own. i’m very into the monochromatic color scheme with that powerful pop of pink in the artwork, that dreamy sofa and killer lounging chair. the really low coffee table works for me too. it’s all quite smashing.
- architectural digest espana is one of my favorite decor magazines and while i love the u.s. version, i find the home tours featured in the spanish version just a little bit more eclectic and unusual. this bohemian home is a prime example of the bounty of inspiration that you can find within the magazine’s pages.
- apartment34 took us on a virtual tour of one of my very favorite places to stay. it’s the incredibly welcoming baixa house in lisbon. it’s the most charming b&b you’d ever want to stay in, and super stylish and supremely located, too! talk about a room with a view!
- i can’t say for certain what it is about this mantel styling that i love so much, but there’s a certain amount of playfulness happening here. between the photograph of a young woman appearing to be crossing her fingers behind her back paired with the religious-inspired accessories, it almost makes me want to imagine what naughtiness she’s gotten up to. i adore styling that hints at a story.
- this charming room had me wanting to take a running dive for that cozy-looking bed. i’ve got a real thing for stripes lately and this bedding hits the mark. i just love all the mismatched, colorful textiles here.
- this is a drinking person’s cocktail glass extravaganza! i really love a mix and match colored glass collection and this is one to aspire to. and the arrangement in rainbow hues is perfection. if you like the look, etsy is a great resource for mismatched glassware.
- i’ve shared my admiration for @frenchbydesign and her beautiful blog before (she used to write for us here many moons ago, too!). i really love si’s eye for design and how she very often changes up her color palette seasonally — just by bringing in a new rug or throw pillows. she’s got a great feed to follow where i think you’ll see what i mean!
