welcome to the weekend, friends. i’m looking forward to spending some time with my brother and sister-in-law who are in town and some lazy days outdoors, reading — my favorite pastime. i asked for some reading suggestions on instagram this week and there were some good ones, so if you’re looking for a good book, have a look. i’ve also been binge-watching last tango in halifax, a bbc show, and can’t recommend it enough (you can find it on netflix)! i do love my brit shows! have a great weekend, all.

  1. this beautiful mansion in Bordeaux, france is just the kind of place i’d love to escape to. i sometimes fantasize about moving to the french countryside and this eclectic home has all the right vibes. you can view the full tour on the socialite family.
  2. i lovingly call this look celebratory decay. when paint appears to be peeling and everything is in very slight disarray i really kind of embrace that effortless chic. this place with its slouchy cozy sofa and mismatched throw pillows is quite perfectly decayed.
  3. this is another very charming, very european home, this time in Brussels dating back to 1825! i’ve only been to Brussels once and for a very short business trip but the architecture of the homes there was most memorable. i’d love to see inside of some of them — like this home tour on milk magazine.
  4. i love following Catskills-based @longweekend on Instagram for all their unique vintage finds, but also for sneak peeks into their own inspiring working space, not to mention their cute pup who looks like he has a very discerning eye, right?
  5. this kate golding designed green ribbons wallpaper is so fresh and pretty, it would liven up just about any room, but i think i’d like to see it best in a kitchen. it’s so cheerful, with kind of a fun retro vibe — i can see cooking quite happily surrounded by this lovely print.
  6. this corner of designer marc jacobs new york city home has always had my heart — especially his original ed ruscha painting paired with all that pretty pottery. i think i’d live happily ever after if i had that painting in my home.
  7. i quite like this little wood-paneled cocktail nook in this mid-century modern home in los feliz, california. it’s styled to perfection with eclectic and unique collectibles, wonderful ceramic lamp, and that vintage portrait makes it come to life for me. most charming!
  8. this is one of the prettiest and most elegant examples of open kitchen shelving styling i’ve seen in a while, photographed by salvo lópez. i love those perfect little cafe curtains hiding all the unsightly plumbing and the pretty ginger jars and dishware are beautifully displayed. even the tea kettle and toaster look smashing in this sweet space.
