weekend greetings! I’ve had a really busy week, working on the paris guides for you (part one is posted and part two is coming soon), and have a good friend from san Francisco arriving for a nice long stay, so i am very ready for the weekend! this week’s finds are very eclectic, with a bit of a vintage-modern edge, so i hope you enjoy. it’s the long beach flea market this weekend, too so perhaps I’ll run into you there. have a good weekend, one and all!
xo, victoria
- i’ve got a mad crush on these mid-century modern willy guhl planters, especially when they’ve been repurposed in unique ways. I’ve seen them as table bases and of course, planters, but i love seeing them at use in bathrooms as a pedestal sink like this one in alys beach house designed by the iron gate. i found one on rejuvenation, but i can’t use in my tiny bathroom, so if you’ve been on the hunt, this one is on sale.
- this is another incredibly beautiful bathroom design photographed by laure joliet and styled by colin king for architectural digest. it’s none other than kirsten dunst’s bathroom, designed by jane hallworth. i love that lovely privacy curtain around the gorgeous copper bathtub.
- excuse me for a moment while i take a brief nap. i just love this bedroom so much, and it has such a calming effect on me. i love the ticking stripe sheets, and the pretty green vintage blanket is such a nice pairing — it’s from folly & fine, a fab vintage homewares shop I’ve recently discovered.
- isn’t this just the prettiest summer cocktail bar set-up? it’s by designer amy neunsinger and kate martindale’s from an episode of the creative duo’s new home design show CAPTURING HOME on the magnolia network. I’m putting it on my must-view list.
- i love this little corner of french interior designer Marianne Evennou’s office. the antique fireplace and vintage settee look so great together, and i love the addition of the modern black & white photography prints to give the room a bit of a dramatic edge. you can see more of her beautiful designs on Instagram and her website.
- I’m such a huge fan of Marseille, france-based artist Sarah Espeute’s incredibly unique embroidered table linens. this one she created for paris design week, and it’s just so charming. i have a round dining table, so i’d love to commission a custom tablecloth from her with some kind of seashell or seafood motif.
- this is one very fabulous dining banquette designed by leanne ford for fashion stylist dani michelle and featured on domino. the dark heavy wood table and bench and such a great contrast to the bright white built-in banquette. the artwork is pretty fab too. the entire home tour is definitely worth a look, again styled by kate martindale and photographed by amy neunsinger.
- this is another of leanne’s signature looks, and i love the cabinet-turned-cocktail-bar with its antique gold shelf backing. i feel like could possibly be a great DIY project for someone a bit more talented than i am in that area. but if you’re in the same boat, it’s a custom cabinet complete with sink built for leanne by wood & wrench. sometimes, it’s just best to leave it to the professionals!
