homes from the 30’s, 40’s and 50’s, often have really colorful tile in both bathrooms and kitchens. i’ve had my share of funky color combos in rental apartments — from a pink & baby blue bathroom to a bleecky yellow & burgundy kitchen, these colors are not always easy on the eyes, nor are they easy to accent with bath and kitchen accessories. you either play the colors up, or try to mask them as best you can. but for some reason, i’ve always been quite okay with green vintage tiles. there was one house i bid on (and lost) that had an amazing green tile bathroom and i was looking forward to spending some time in its cheerful space and clawfoot tub. alas, it was not meant to be. but here’s a few bathrooms to remind us of those grand green tiles of yesteryear.
