happy weekend one and all! a few things on a personal note i’ve been wanting to share with you in the hopes they might benefit you, too, if you’ve been struggling since covid. first off, i gained quite a few pounds with comfort food over quarantine and in august, i started the noom app to try and get back on track as well as lose some extra weight i’d been carrying around for a long while. well as of today i’m down 25 pounds and honestly without sacrificing or starving myself — very slow and steady. this is not an ad, by the way, but i do highly recommend checking out the app if you too have struggled with getting healthy. and secondly, i told you a while back i’d started practicing TM and that has been going really well for me, too. i feel much more grateful for everything around me, my empathy has deepened, and my patience for what i can’t control has significantly improved. anyway, i just wanted to pass these things along with love, because honestly i was feeling pretty low there for a while and have really turned a corner (not to get too woo-woo with you — ha)!  anyway, on to friday finds — very quirky this week, but making me very happy. i hope they bring you some joy, too.

xo, victoria

  1. i just love this quirky and colorful home. it’s so full of whimsy and joy and there is absolutely no fear here! it’s a home in east london in the Epping Forest featured on the modern home and it is just chock full of some really inspiring ideas (check out those outside garden walls made from woven hazel!) so have a gander at the full tour.
  2. how about this for an epic sofa? i think you could pile at least a half dozen guests on in and still have a bit of room to spare. featured on @objet_la_ny’s instagram feed which is a favorite of mine and full of excellent finds — in fact, their motto is “In objects we trust”. i love that.
  3. when i first saw this image i thought of easter eggs — i guess it’s that time of year. but instead, it’s a vintage french botanical print of pastel seashells. there’s a small selection of these prints available on panteek from the first edition of Charles D’Orbigny’s Dictionnaire Universel d’Histoire Naturelle published in 1849 by Renard & Martinet, Paris. just lovely!
  4. this funky bedroom really caught my eye on instagram from @gleaningsfromearth but it was its source and quote by designer Terence Conran that really resonated with me: “If our homes should provide anything, they should provide a sense of who we are and how we got here, a sense of connection balanced by a sense of direction and progress”. i can really relate to that sentiment.
  5. i don’t what it is exactly about these large black hand chairs, but i kinda love them. my friend had one in her art studio once and was giving it away and i didn’t take her up on it because i didn’t know where i’d put it. and now i’m just filled with regrets! lesson learned. i’ve seen them online from time to time, like this one from chairish.
  6. i really like the unique and unexpected styling going on in this kitchen, perhaps because it’s completely non-traditional and you might not even realize it’s a kitchen at all at first glance. the candelabra and the lighting fixture are so unique it just makes me happy. you know how i love a weird juxtaposition. the entire home is quite beautiful, designed by hauvette & madani so do have a look.
  7. i’ve been on the hunt for some new bed linens for spring and just for fun, i’d like to do some mixing and matching instead of my usual all-white sheets. i love the collections from toast uk and this cheerful bedding from their lookbook is just the type of thing i’m hoping to find.
  8. since easter is already on the way you may be looking for some diy easter projects and these gorgeous easter eggs by @anekirstine.bilde featured on milk magazine really caught my attention. check out their diy article for some other really beautiful ideas (and ones a bit easier than these works of art eggs).
